Fine herbs, minty notes. A big and chewy wine with a lot of tannins. With a juicy palate and tart finish, this wine pairs well with cured meat, beef, lamb, veal and poultry. Pure Cabernet Franc, only made in exceptional years. Only 3750 bottles. 91 point rating.

Composed of different vines, international and autochthonous, such as Barbera, Cabernet, Dolcetto, Nebbiolo, Petyt Verdot,  L’Insieme Vino Rosso, Elio Altare is a well-structured and harmonious wine that needs to "open" or to better develop its aromatic, intense and complex kit. Because of the composition, the taste is much more “international”, spicy and herbal. Big and inviting nose of black fruit. This wine has an Intense and well-balanced palate.

Medium to full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a long, fruity finish. An intriguing blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Merlot & Sangiovese aged in 100% new French oak for 16 months prior to bottling. Pairs well with beef, veal, lamb and cured meat. 91 point rating.  

Toscana Solaia 1999, Antinori

Toscana Solaia 1999 features a dark color with intense aromas of blackberries and fresh herbs, such as basil, with a hint of eucalyptus. Full-bodied, with extremely well-polished tannins and a long, long finish. A tight and racy young wine that needs time to come into its own. Beef stews, braised dishes and casseroles, is best served with this wine. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Sangiovese.  Best after 2005. 91 point rating.

Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova 2003, Casanova di Neri

Featuring a deep ruby color with brownish hues, the Brunello Tenuta Nuova 2003 caresses the palate with plenty of silky-textured dark red cherries, plums, smoke, earthiness and sweet toasted oak. This polished modern-styled wine offers superb balance in a rich, weighty style that will find many admirers. The tannins are remarkably well-integrated, which is quite a feat in this vintage. To be sure, there isn't much of what is called varietal character here but by any definition this is a beautiful wine on an absolute level. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2019. 91 point rating.

Featuring a well-balanced structure that is fruity, and slightly balsamic with a long-lasting finish, this soft red wine pairs well with a variety of dishes including Peking duck, roast beef with wasabi and aged cheeses.
