With a deep dark garnet colour, the Toscana Solengo 1997, Argiano is a blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon with a tiny dosage of Syrah. Rich and thick, with wonderfully complex aromas of berry, tobacco and flowers this wine is full in body, with a complement of finely polished yet velvety tannins.
Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova 2001, Casanova di Neri
Brunello Tenuta Nuova 2001 is considered the best Tenuta Nuova ever. This 97-point wine shows a mind-blowing intensity of blackberry, chocolate, and lightly toasted oak. But it's the texture that really impresses, caressing the palate with ripe, flavorful fruit and velvety tannins. Suggested food pairings are beef and venison. Wine of the Year 2006. 94 point rating.
Bolgheri Sassicaia 1998, Tenuta San Guido
Lovely, subtle yet complex, the Bolgheri Sassicaia 1998 is expertly blended with cabernet sauvignon 85%, cabernet franc 15% to produce aromas of currants, sage and green olives leading to a full-bodied red with a solid core of fruit and well-integrated tannins. Still very reserved on the finish, but those who are patient should be rewarded. Sassicaia is delicious with refined main courses featuring red meat or game. 94 point rating.
Toscana Tignanello 2018, Antinori
The Antinori Toscana Tignanello 2018 is a deeply intense ruby red exquisitely blended from a combination of 80% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cab Franc grapes. On the nose, it's remarkably complex with notes of ripe red fruit, black cherries, and sour cherries that merge with sweet hints of vanilla, mint and delicate sensations of white pepper and myrtle. Supple velvety tannins deliver exceptional freshness that gives the wine length, elegance and persistence of flavours. Rich and well-balanced with a long-lasting finish, this wine pairs well with cured meat, beef, lamb, veal and poultry.
Toscana Maestro Raro 2018, Fattoria di Fèlsina
Deep red with hints of purple and violet, the Fattoria di Felsina Toscana Maestro Raro 2015 is exquisitely blended with 100% Cabernet Sauvignon to produce an aroma of berries, tobacco, leather and black tea. Elegant, persistent, warm and harmonious on the palate with an ample finish, this wine pairs well with cured meat, beef, lamb, veal and poultry.
Sant’Antimo Pietradonice 2018, Casanova di Neri
Young and Intense, dark ruby red, the Casanova di Neri St. Antimo Pietradonice 2017 nose is highly complex, expressing hints of ink powerful and at the same time complex red fruit. The tannins texture in thick and consistent, silky and round, the finish is of rare persistence, suggesting a remarkable aging potential. With dense tannins and a sweet persistence, this wine pairs well with grilled meat, game and aged cheeses. Aged in oak barrels 18 months, this 2000 vintage was the first produced. The name comes from the very rich stone found in the earth. 94 point rating.
