Langhe Sperss 1997, Gaja
$6,500.00 TTD
The Gaja Langhe Sperss 1997 is expertly blended from the Nebbiolo grape to provide an earthy and fruity aroma. Impressive structure. This red wine is an excellent choice to accompany beef, lamb, game and pasta cuisine. Best after 2005. 2,000 cases made. Gaja was never a great sustainer of the thesis that Barbaresco/Barolo should be 100 per cent Nebbiolo. In the late 1990s, Gaja decided to re-classify his Barolos, Sperss and Conteisa, as Langhe Nebbiolo DOC, which permits an addition of 15% of other grapes recommended or authorized for the province of Cuneo (could be Barbera or Cabernet Sauvignon; Gaja claims the former).
