Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova 2001, Casanova di Neri
$2,650.00 TTD
Brunello Tenuta Nuova 2001 is considered the best Tenuta Nuova ever. This 97-point wine shows a mind-blowing intensity of blackberry, chocolate, and lightly toasted oak. But it's the texture that really impresses, caressing the palate with ripe, flavorful fruit and velvety tannins. Suggested food pairings are beef and venison. Wine of the Year 2006. 94 point rating.

Bolgheri Sassicaia 1998, Tenuta San Guido
$6,500.00 TTD
Lovely, subtle yet complex, the Bolgheri Sassicaia 1998 is expertly blended with cabernet sauvignon 85%, cabernet franc 15% to produce aromas of currants, sage and green olives leading to a full-bodied red with a solid core of fruit and well-integrated tannins. Still very reserved on the finish, but those who are patient should be rewarded. Sassicaia is delicious with refined main courses featuring red meat or game. 94 point rating.

Langhe Sperss 1997, Gaja
$6,500.00 TTD
The Gaja Langhe Sperss 1997 is expertly blended from the Nebbiolo grape to provide an earthy and fruity aroma. A superb Sperss, with refined aromas of minerals, flowers, berries and just a hint of mint. Full-bodied and powerful, with chewy tannins and a long berry, cherry and mineral aftertaste. Impressive structure. This red wine is an excellent choice to accompany beef, lamb, game and pasta cuisine. Best after 2005. 2,000 cases made. Gaja was never a great sustainer of the thesis that Barbaresco/Barolo should be 100 per cent Nebbiolo. In the late 1990s, Gaja decided to re-classify his Barolos, Sperss and Conteisa, as Langhe Nebbiolo DOC, which permits an addition of 15% of other grapes recommended or authorized for the province of Cuneo (could be Barbera or Cabernet Sauvignon; Gaja claims the former).
